A new automotive parts retailer could open its doors within the next month.

O’Reilly Auto Parts is opening a new store on N. Wisner Street, next to the CITGO gas station and PS Mart store.

Construction crews have been working on the site for months to build a one-story, 7,700-square-foot structure.

Spokesman Mark Merz did not have an exact number of how many jobs the store would bring but said O’Reilly Auto Parts store typically have eight to 12 employees.

O’Reilly Auto Parts has more than 3,600 locations in 39 states and more than 47,000 employees, according to its website.

A German auto-parts manufacturer plans to build a factory in Dublin, bringing 178 jobs with it.

That’s according to Cal Wray, of the Dublin-Laurens County Development Authority.

He said the Erdich Company manufactures brake pistons and metal stampings for companies like Mercedes Benz’ Alabama plant, BMW’s North Carolina plant, Volkswagen, Kia and more.

According to a news release from Gov. Nathan Deal’s office,  Erdrich Umformtechnik GmbH & Co.KG is “a midsized family-owned company that produces complex metal parts and subassemblies for the automotive industry, and has been in the metal stamping business for more than 50 years.”

The company has two plants in Germany, one in the Czech Republic and another in China that supplies parts to other automotive supplier companies as well to BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen, Deal’s office says.

Wray said the company expects to break ground in May or June at the county industrial park off exit 49 on Interstate 16.

Wray said the plant will cost an estimated $ 39 million.
