Richmond International Raceway has locked down one of its top sponsorship slots, announcing Wednesday that Federated Auto Parts will become the title sponsor of its September Sprint Cup race for the next three years.
The race will be called the Federated Auto Parts 400, and is an opportunity for the Staunton-based company to promote its nationwide chain of auto parts stores. In Richmond, Federated’s stores carry the Fisher Auto Parts name.
The company previously sponsored the Nationwide series event in Nashville, but that track closed before the 2012 season.
